Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) has signed a cooperation protocol with the Chief Public Prosecutor’s Offices of Vezirköprü, Bafra, and Çarşamba to support rehabilitation efforts for individuals under probation and former convicts.
The protocol, signed at the OMU Rectorate Senate Hall, aims to contribute to the personal development of individuals under probation, prevent recidivism, and facilitate their reintegration into society. Additionally, it seeks to enhance the quality and scope of probation services, incorporate academic expertise, and strengthen implementation through scientific approaches.
The protocol was signed by OMU Rector Prof. Dr. Fatma Aydın, Vezirköprü Chief Public Prosecutor Emre Kaya, Bafra Deputy Chief Public Prosecutor Faruk Tamer, and Çarşamba Chief Public Prosecutor Çağrı Gir.
Emphasizing the significance of the protocol, OMU Rector Prof. Dr. Fatma Aydın stated:
"Education and academic support play a crucial role in rebuilding society and reintegrating individuals. With its scientific approach and strong faculty, our university will continue to take the lead in such projects. As OMU, we are ready to provide all necessary support to expand similar initiatives."
The signing ceremony concluded with a gift exchange and a commemorative photo session.
