Meeting the Need for Qualified Technical Personnel

The 96-hour vocational training program, led by the Continuing Education Center (OMÜSEM), aimed at addressing the need for qualified technical personnel in the automotive sector in Samsun, was completed successfully with the participation of 19 trainees.

“This process excited both the University and the industry”

Speaking at the program's opening, Rector Prof. Dr. Yavuz Ünal said, "I congratulate our friends who will move on to a new phase in their professional lives with the education they have received. This process excited both the University and the industry. From our perspective, it was a precious initiative that can be cited as an example of sectoral cooperation. Therefore, I thank our University. In this process, the role of Ondokuz Mayıs University is to produce quality education that considers the development and needs of the region, deliver this education with its personnel, and then certify the process. We are very pleased with this course, which we have successfully completed today."

“This training was just the initial phase”

Rector Ünal emphasized that the training will continue in the future, stating, "We started this process within the framework of a protocol we signed with SOYS, intending to introduce our masters and professionals in the industry to new knowledge and technology regarding electric vehicles, and training them without any risk. Today, we have completed this 96-hour training program, which lasted five months. However, this training was just the initial phase. Further training programs will be planned according to the sector's needs, and new candidates will join this process."

“I believe this program is just the beginning of our collaboration with the University”

SOYS President Mehmet Akif Koçak expressed his gratitude by saying, "I would like to extend my sincere thanks to Ondokuz Mayıs University Rector, our esteemed professors, and all participants who supported us at the start of this program. I believe that this program is just the beginning of our collaboration with the University. Hopefully, there will be more to come. Currently, electric vehicles are on the agenda. I believe important steps will be taken in this area in our city, Samsun. We have started this training in our city, and I believe we will achieve great things by continuing our efforts in the electric vehicle industry."

The program concluded with Rector Ünal presenting certificates to the course participants who successfully completed the training.
