The ‘Basic Automotive Electrician Training’ organized under the protocol signed between Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) and the Samsun Automotive Authorized Dealers Association (SOYS) has concluded.

A briefing meeting was held at the OMU Rectorate to review the feedback from the training, chaired by OMU Rector Prof. Dr. Yavuz Ünal and SOYS Association President Mehmet Akif Koçak.

Collaboration with TSE to Be Established

At the end of the meeting, where ideas were shared about the sector's needs, it was decided that in future training sessions, the educators themselves would be trained, and the trainees would be certified by the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE).

“An Important Step Taken to Meet the Need for Qualified Technical Personnel in the Automotive Sector”

During the meeting, OMU Rector Prof. Dr. Yavuz Ünal stated that an important step had been taken to meet the need for qualified technical personnel in the automotive sector in Samsun through the training programs. He said, “Through university-industry cooperation, we aim to utilize new and developing technologies most effectively. Considering the developments in the sector regarding electric vehicles in Türkiye and around the world, we plan to organize new training sessions in collaboration with SOYS to address the need for a qualified workforce in the sector. Under the protocol we previously signed, we will organize new training programs to balance the knowledge and skills produced in academia with the sector's needs. Therefore, it is important for participants to gain practical experience in the sector and work together with it. We also want the training we provide to meet TSE standards. Initially, we need support in training the trainers. The necessary training format can be established, and a certification program can be carried out in collaboration with TSE and the University.”
