Acting with a student-centered management mentality, Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMÜ) administrative committee has decided on a 40 percent reduction on the tuition fees of its international students at its meeting dated 1 October 2020.

In the said decision, it has been decided in a unanimous verdict that a 40 percent reduction should be made for the 2020 – 2021 Academic Year Fall Semester tuition fees due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

“Course registration deadline has been extended”

In addition to the reduction for the international student tuition fees, OMU administrative committee has also extended the course registration deadline to 7 October 2020, Wednesday at 24.00.

“International students who have registered before the reduction are not forgotten”

Lastly, it has been determined in the decision that a 40 percent reduction is going to be applied at the Spring Semester tuition fees of the students who have already paid their tuition fees and finalized their course registration procedures before this decision.

“Rector Ünal: it is our primary goal to minimize current problems”

While giving information regarding the reduction decision, OMU Rector Prof. Dr. Yavuz Ünal said the following: “The problems brought upon the world and on our country by the Covid-19 pandemic are felt in all spheres of our lives and also in the field of education. It is our primary goal to minimize the current problems our students are having due to the pandemic. In accordance with this goal, we have listened to the problems our international students are going through and took these problems into consideration and have decided to apply a 40 percent reduction in our international students’ tuition fees.
