Following the visit, OMÜ-TÜRKÇE Director Prof. Dr. Serkan Şen presented his work on the significance of language and speech in Turkish culture, inspired by the wisdom of Kutadgu Bilig, to Rector Prof. Dr. Fatma Aydın.
Prof. Dr. Şen emphasized that the collection of advice highlights the value placed on language in Turkish culture and affirmed their commitment to continuing activities to raise awareness of the Turkish language.
Highlighting the significance of this special day in raising awareness of linguistic diversity as a shared heritage of humanity, Prof. Dr. Fatma Aydın stated:
"Language is one of the most essential values that carry a nation’s cultural heritage, history, and identity into the future. International Mother Language Day on February 21 reminds us of the importance of preserving and sustaining all languages, especially our beautiful Turkish language.
It is a great joy for us to come together with students from different linguistic backgrounds and witness the convergence of languages and cultures. Our collective responsibility is to pass on the connection between the power of language and the depth of thought to future generations."
