The "Reeder Art Competition Exhibition," a joint venture between Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) Faculty of Fine Arts and the Türkiye-based technology company Reeder, was recently unveiled.

According to a statement from OMU, the collaboration, formalized through the "Reeder-OMU Art and Design Academy" agreement, aims to foster the artistic development of students, enrich their imaginations, strengthen their thinking abilities, enhance their engagement with life, and provide them with the technical skills needed to formally express their thoughts.

The event, featuring contributions from students of the OMU Faculty of Fine Arts, was designed to showcase the talents of young aspiring painters. The competition saw Seçkin Çoban clinching the first place in painting, followed by Havvanur Yaşar and Melis Höner in second and third places, respectively, while Aleyna Musaoğlu and Özlem Katırcıoğlu received honorable mentions.

In the ceramics and glass category, Yaren Hacer Ertek emerged as the winner, with Eray Çoksert in second place and Rabia Kara securing third. Buse Özdemir was awarded an honorable mention.

OMU Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Selim Eren emphasized the significance of university-industry collaborations. He mentioned that in partnership with Reeder, they plan to initiate new projects in the upcoming term, not limiting themselves to artistic activities alone. "We recognize that the concept of competition encompasses not just one discipline but the dynamics of an entire society. Therefore, we believe in achieving success as a whole across technology, art, and science," Eren stated.

The exhibition was also attended by 19 Mayıs Mayor Osman Topaloğlu, OMU Secretary-General Prof. Dr. İdris Varıcı, Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts Prof. Dr. Ali Seylan, faculty members Prof. Dr. Ali Tomak, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tarık Yazar, Dr. Lecturer Özlem Ayvaz Tunç, and Reeder's Corporate Relations Director İclal Erkan.
