Aiming to help university students adapt to the labor market and increase their employability, the İŞKUR Youth Program held a draw to select students who will work at Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU).
The draw took place at the OMU Distance Education Application and Research Center (UZEM) Conference Hall in the presence of officials from Samsun’s 5th Notary and İŞKUR representatives. The event, which drew large student participation, was also broadcast live on social media and followed by thousands of viewers.
A total of 7,881 students applied to the program, while 3,238 positions allocated to OMU were filled through the notary-supervised draw. Students whose names were drawn and who meet the program’s requirements will be employed in various departments and campuses of the university.
Speaking before the draw, OMU Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Alper Kesten emphasized that the program offers students both financial assistance and an opportunity to gain real-world experience.
Prof. Dr. Kesten said:
“The İŞKUR Youth Program, announced by our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan as good news for young people and implemented nationwide, continues to offer employment and experience opportunities for university students in the 2025–2026 academic year. Through this transparent draw conducted in the presence of a notary, we are determining the names of the students who will take part. This program provides our students not only with financial support but also with valuable preparation for professional life.”
He added:
“This year, 7,881 students applied to the program, and 3,238 positions were allocated to our university. In other words, nearly one in every two students will have the opportunity to work. We will continue our cooperation with İŞKUR to include students on the reserve list in the program as well. I hope both the draw and the working period will be fruitful and beneficial for all our students.”
