The closing program of the 'Creative Cultural Industries Meeting Young Entrepreneurs' project, conducted by Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) and supported by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, was held. The program included an exhibition, a certificate, and an award ceremony.
The event, organized at the Faculty of Communications, was attended by OMU Rector Prof. Dr. Yavuz Ünal, Dean of the Faculty of Communications Prof. Dr. Onur Bekiroğlu, Vice Deans Assoc. In his speech at the ceremony held in the Faculty of Communications conference hall, OMU Rector Prof. Dr. Yavuz Ünal mentioned the implementation of a beautiful project.
He emphasized the importance of culture and communication in today's world and the significance of students developing themselves in this field. "Don't just graduate from this faculty with a diploma; develop yourself in the background. This will be important for your future. After leaving here, join 'Talent Gate' because I believe it will greatly contribute to you," he said.
Rector Ünal, talking about the competition with machines in today's world, said, "With the introduction of artificial intelligence into our lives, a competitive process has begun. However, we know no power can compete with humans. What distinguishes humans from artificial intelligence are their emotions, and culture is at the forefront of these. Culture is a topic that needs to be focused on, especially by our friends studying in the field of communication. We are all individuals of the same culture, and this culture imposes certain codes on us. Culture encompasses our tastes, reactions, what we eat and drink, and many aspects of life. However, in the globalizing world, we see cultures being consciously destroyed. To stand against this deliberate destruction, we must protect and preserve our culture. This protection is only possible by transforming the culture into an industrial transformation. A culture gains identity through the values it carries within."
Rector Ünal, addressing the students of the Faculty of Communications, concluded his words by highlighting the significant responsibility they bear: "First and foremost, as the ethics of this profession, you need to know that the news you make is not just news. Your news should be written in a way that prevents perceptions that could infringe on many people's rights and protects human rights and dignity. You must always be on the side of truth. During this process, I request you to develop and equip yourself in the strongest way. We want you to become a communicator who loves your job and is distinguished upon graduation. I thank everyone who contributed to the project."
