The “Graduation” exhibition was inaugurated at Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU), celebrating the creative achievements of soon-to-be graduates.
The exhibition features sculptures, paintings, and graphic designs produced by students graduating from the Department of Art and Design Education, Division of Painting and Art Education at OMU’s Faculty of Education. The opening took place at the faculty gallery.
OMU Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Alper Kesten, speaking at the ceremony, congratulated the graduating students.
“These students have delivered significant works,” Kesten said. “I would also like to express my gratitude to institutions outside our university that have supported our students throughout their academic journey.”
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Selma Karaahmet Balcı, a faculty member of the Painting and Art Education Division, explained that they had prepared a group graduation exhibition for the 35 graduating students.
Balcı noted that the exhibition includes around 250 works, stating:
“Some of the pieces are paintings, others are sculptures, and some are graphic design projects. These are the tangible results of what our students have created and invested their effort into over the past four years. The exhibition will be open for one week, and we welcome all art enthusiasts.”
Dilara Bilgiç, one of the graduating students, stated that she specialized in graphic design, which is her major area of study. She shared her intention to pursue a career in this field after graduation.
Following the opening ceremony, a celebratory cake was cut.
The exhibition will remain open at OMU Faculty of Education until June 25.
