Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) Rector Prof. Dr. Yavuz Ünal conducted visits and inspections at Amasya's defense, aviation, technology, and agriculture companies.

Cooperation Visits to Support Regional Development

Concrete initiatives are planned to support regional development as a result of a series of visits that included detailed discussions on further strengthening university-industry collaboration and developing potential joint projects.

During these productive visits, Rector Ünal met with Varer Defense and Aviation Chairman Tarık Varer, Central Black Sea Businessmen Platform (OKİP) President Abdurrahman Karataş, Amasya Small and Medium Enterprises Development Organization (KOSGEB) Director Bayram Ali Kukuş, DEKO Airbag Production General Manager Suat Önal, Kendir Factory Chairman Ümit Yetişiz, and Öncüller Nesil Food Chairman Erol Öncül.

OMU-TTO to Conduct R&D Collaborations

Essential meetings for potential collaborations were held during the visit, which included the participation of the OMU Technology Transfer Office (TTO) team. As a result of contacts with leading companies in the sector, OMU-TTO will cooperate regarding the commercialization of products developed within the scope of Research and Development (R&D) activities.

Transferring OMU's Knowledge and Research Capacity to the Industrial Sector

During the discussions, emphasis was placed on how the university's accumulated knowledge and research capacity could be utilized more effectively in the industrial sector. Company officials provided Rector Ünal with detailed information about their current and future projects and shared possible scenarios for collaborations with the university. The parties focused on innovative solutions and technologies that could emerge from combining academic knowledge and industrial experience.

These successes have been reflected in the evaluations of national and international ranking organizations. Our efforts have led OMU to become a candidate research university. With these visits, while further strengthening university-industry cooperation, we exchanged ideas on developing joint projects. We aim to support regional development by sharing OMU's knowledge, expertise, experience, and scientific outputs with our companies. We desire our companies to transform into stronger establishments with high export potential by increasing their product and service quality."
