OMU Hosts National Conference on Advances in Pediatric Trauma Treatment

Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) Faculty of Medicine's Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology organized a conference titled "Current Approach to Pediatric Trauma" as part of the traditional "Ondokuz Mayıs Orthopedics and Traumatology Days." The event focused on the latest developments in pediatric traumatology.

Held at the Faculty of Medicine Auditorium, the conference brought together nationally renowned experts. The scientific secretary of the four-session conference was Assoc. Prof. Dr. İsmail Büyükceran, and it began with an opening speech by Vice Dean Prof. Dr. Ahmet Tevfik Sünter. Afterward, the Head of the Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology, Prof. Dr. Nevzat Dabak, and Conference Chair Prof. Dr. Yılmaz Tomak delivered their speeches, followed by the first session, chaired by retired department head Prof. Dr. Ali Birol Gülman.

The conference saw high participation from nearby provinces. Among the speakers were Prof. Dr. Hakan Kınık, Prof. Dr. Güney Yılmaz, Prof. Dr. Şenol Bekmez, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Murat Danışman, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hicabi Sezgin, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Sina Coşkun, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Osman Nuri Özyalvaç, Dr. Tolga Keçeci, Dr. Muhammet Kalkışım, and Dr. Alparslan Yurtbay.

The main theme of the conference was to explore current approaches to trauma cases in children. Speakers shared their knowledge and experience regarding new treatment protocols and technological advancements. The event also provided a valuable learning opportunity for medical students, with case presentations and interactive sessions offering practical insights. The conference aimed to enhance the exchange of information in pediatric trauma and contribute to improving child healthcare services.

The event concluded with the distribution of certificates to participants.
