The event, organized by the Turkish Neurosurgical Society’s Surgical Neuroanatomy Teaching and Training Group, took place at the Atatürk Congress and Culture Center. The symposium was coordinated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Şevki Serhat Baydın and Dr. Yunus Emre Durmuş, faculty members from the Department of Neurosurgery at OMU Faculty of Medicine. Speaking at the opening ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Şevki Serhat Baydın stated, "As a surgical education and training group, we regularly participate in and present at numerous national and international meetings. Under the umbrella of the Turkish Neurosurgical Society, we are one of the dedicated training groups. After years of attending various events, we decided to organize our own meeting. We are honored to host this symposium in Samsun, the symbolic city of the Turkish National Struggle and the pearl of the Black Sea. We are delighted to welcome highly experienced experts from across Türkiye, bringing together neurosurgeons and ENT specialists for this significant event. This meeting features a wide range of presentations focusing on the skull base and surgical approaches to this region. Our goal is to thoroughly discuss and analyze the anatomy and surgical strategies related to the skull base."
Additionally, Prof. Dr. Cengiz Çokluk, Dean of OMU Faculty of Medicine and Chair of the Department of Neurosurgery, also delivered a speech during the opening session. Following the speeches, the symposium continued with presentations from participating physicians, fostering knowledge exchange and professional dialogue.
