A protocol for the Türkiye Cyber Homeland Program was signed between Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) and the Middle Black Sea Development Agency (OKA). The signed protocol aims to enhance Türkiye's digital security through joint efforts between the two institutions.

At the protocol ceremony held in the Senate Hall, the agreement was signed by Rector Prof. Dr. Fatma Aydın and OKA Secretary General Mehlika Dicle.

Each Applicant Will Be Directed to the Cyber Homeland Hackviser Platform

Under the protocol signed between OKA and OMU, a coordinator and an assistant coordinator from the university will be appointed. Training will be conducted within the university with financial support from the Agency. Every applicant will be directed to the Cyber Homeland Hackviser platform, where they will be required to complete the training and tasks on the platform over approximately 15 days.

Closing the Cybersecurity Specialist Gap in Türkiye

Developed by the Western Black Sea Development Agency, the “Cyber Homeland” program aims to train cybersecurity experts and is emerging as a significant national educational initiative. The program seeks to close the gap in cybersecurity specialists in Türkiye, and it is expected to take on a national structure under the name “Türkiye Cyber Homeland Program” starting in 2025.

Afterward, students will participate in three different face-to-face trainings, each lasting five days. These trainings will cover CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker), Web Security, and Malware Analysis. Before these trainings, participants will also receive the Cyber Homeland 101 training online. Out of all the applicants, 40 students will be selected through an exam to participate in these trainings. After the training, the program's second stage will include a Bootcamp exam and camp. The Bootcamp, lasting ten days, will be held face-to-face with selected students from groups across the country. By the end of the program, students will have taken a significant step toward becoming cybersecurity specialists.
