Students from Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) Faculty of Engineering have designed gloves that can translate sign language into text. Emre Şola, Hüseyin Gazi Karabolat, and Semih Yılmaz, students from the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department, developed gloves that translate sign language into written text.

Through their research, the students created sensors for the gloves that change resistance value when bent. Once a person makes a sign, the sensors on the gloves capture the data. This data is then matched with the corresponding letters and words in sign language, providing visual output through a mobile application.

Emre Şola explained the project, "Our project is designed to facilitate communication for people who use sign language in their daily lives. Using the sensors and different software methods on the gloves, we enabled communication between the two gloves and interpreted various words. This way, we have made it easier for people who know sign language and those who do not to communicate in daily life."

The project was exhibited as part of the graduation projects of students from the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department at the Faculty of Engineering.
