Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) Vocational School of Justice (VSJ) has graduated its students for the 2023-2024 academic year.

The graduation ceremony, held at OMU Mustafa Kemal Güneşdoğdu Campus, started with a moment of silence and the Turkish National Anthem. Attendees included VSJ Director Prof. Dr. Ayhan Ak, Çarşamba Mayor Hüseyin Dündar, Faculty of Communication Dean Prof. Dr. Onur Bekiroğlu, Çarşamba Commodity Exchange VS Director Prof. Dr. İsmail Aydemir, academics, graduates, and their families.

“We Will Continue to Support”

Mayor Dündar emphasized that the Çarşamba Municipality always supports education and students, stating, “Mustafa Kemal Güneşdoğdu, who grew up in Çarşamba, served as a dentist, and provided health services to our country, made significant contributions to the construction of this campus area and the buildings of Ali Fuad Başgil Faculty of Law, Faculty of Communication, and Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. Mrs. Tülay Ulusoy contributed to our campus by providing the Vocational School of Justice building. May God bless them all. We have supported the activities here and will continue to do so. We are preparing to develop this campus, which covers approximately one hundred acres, with ongoing cultural and congress center constructions and other facilities in the coming years.”

“Adding New Members to the Justice Army”

In his speech, VSJ Director Prof. Dr. Ayhan Ak said, “We are adding new members to the justice army and experiencing the joy of it. The state has three fundamental functions: meeting needs, establishing justice, and maintaining order. Our students will now participate in the justice mechanism within these three fundamental functions. Justice is defined as putting things in their place. We all advocate for justice and strive for everything to be in its proper place. It makes us happy that our students will be part of this crucial mechanism in society, and new students will follow this process.”

We Will Do Our Part in Building Justice

VSJ valedictorian Erdem Acar expressed his gratitude, saying, “Every individual must renew, develop themselves, and fulfill their duty in ensuring justice as life progresses. As graduates of the justice department, if we are to build the future and justice, we must not remain stagnant. We must move forward and always strive to advance. I pledge to work with all my might to do my part in this regard.”

The graduates were invited to the stage to receive their diplomas after the speeches. The graduation ceremony concluded with the students tossing their caps into the air.
