The little ones at Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) Daycare, who successfully completed the 2023-2024 academic year, experienced their first graduation. The ceremony, held in the Daycare garden amidst celebrations and performances, was attended by Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Selim Eren, Head of Health, Culture and Sports Department Güngör Kural, teachers, and families who shared in the excitement of the little graduates.

Speaking at the ceremony, which began with a moment of silence and the national anthem, Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Selim Eren said, “Such ceremonies are a step in advancing to the next level of excitement. Our students will continue their educational journey by progressing through stages. We aim to nurture our own students from kindergarten onward. As you know, OMU has a foundation college, a high school, a university, and postgraduate education. We want to raise our students internally. We are keeping records of our graduates. Approximately 55,000 students are registered in our graduation system. OMU is among the rare universities that offer every stage of education. The quality of our university is due to the contributions of every individual working at OMU. Therefore, I thank all my colleagues. I wish our little graduates success in their primary school lives.”

Sharing the graduation excitement of the little ones, Head of Health, Culture and Sports Department Güngör Kural said, “With the awareness that education is a process that starts in the family and continues with school, we are constantly striving to ensure that our University’s Kindergarten serves as a pioneering institution preparing the children of our employees for primary education. In this context, we have made various physical arrangements to ensure our Kindergarten is a safe school and reflected new developments in education into our practices. I extend my gratitude to our Rector, who has always supported us on this journey, our University’s senior management, our internal stakeholders from the Department Heads, and you, dear parents, who contribute to our institutional development with your feedback. I wholeheartedly celebrate our children's first graduation.”

The graduation ceremony continued with dance performances and songs prepared by the graduating children for the guests. Following this, the children donned their gowns and received their diplomas from Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Selim Eren and Head of Health, Culture and Sports Department Güngör Kural.

After cutting the graduation cake, the little graduates took an oath and concluded the day by tossing their caps into the air, celebrating this special occasion with great excitement.
