The “Tahir Aydoğdu Internet Choir Sultan Compositions Concert and Tuğra Exhibition,” organized by Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) Bafra Faculty of Business, brought nostalgic breezes to the attendees.
Held at the Atatürk Congress and Culture Center (AKM), the concert featured melodies composed by Ottoman sultans and princes, performed by the Tahir Aydoğdu Internet Choir. Concurrently, the "Tuğra Exhibition" displayed the imperial monograms of the Ottoman sultans in the AKM foyer area.
The concert, led by Associate Professor Suzan Urgan from the Bafra Faculty of Business and conducted by TRT artist Tahir Aydoğdu, was attended by Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Murat Terzi, Dean of the Faculty of Tourism Prof. Dr. Yetkin Bulut, numerous academicians, and students.
In his opening remarks, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Murat Terzi expressed his pleasure in participating in such an event, stating, "Our university, named after May 19th, embodies the spirit of liberation. I extend my gratitude to the esteemed members of the choir and everyone who contributed to showcasing compositions reflecting this spirit in our city. Welcome to our university. You honor us with your presence."
The concert, performed by a 50-member choir, included a repertoire featuring:
