We celebrate the "48th Anniversary of the Establishment" of our University, taking its name from May 19, 1919, the day the struggle for independence began, this year with bitterness due to the disaster of the century.

Ondokuz Mayıs University, which was established with the "Law on the Establishment of Four Universities" numbered 1873, adopted by the Turkish Grand National Assembly on April 1, 1975 and entered into force after being published in the Official Gazette on April 11, 1975, first started education with 50 students.

With a 48-year history, Ondokuz Mayıs University is one of the important universities of the city and the higher education community with its institutional structure, visionary education approach, green campuses, and developing infrastructure. Our University has achieved many successes since its establishment and has trained scientists, academicians, and successful business people in their respective fields. Our University draws a strong image with its academic staff contributing to the scientific structure and stands out with the value it places on its students.

We will be happy to see the entire OMU Family at the ceremony and iftar program to be held within the scope of the 48th anniversary.
