A Professional Practice Program Protocol for the Faculty of Science, Statistics Department was signed between the Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT) and Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU).

The protocol was signed by OMU Rector Prof. Dr. Yavuz Ünal and TURKSTAT President Erhan Çetinkaya at the ceremony held at TURKSTAT Head Office. The protocol aims to contribute to the professional development of students in the Statistics Department of the Faculty of Science.

With the protocol, which will be valid for three years from the date of signature, it is aimed to enable students who successfully carry out the undergraduate program of the Faculty of Science, Department of Statistics, to gain hands-on experience in one of their fields of application, and to enable them to start the profession in the best way possible.

In the protocol signed for implementing the Professional Practice Program course, which is in the 8th semester of the Statistics Department undergraduate curriculum, at the Regional Directorate, the Regional Directorate will notify the Department Head every year two months before the spring semester classes start. Within the scope of this program, students will work in the Regional Directorate in accordance with the current working conditions and rules.

In their speeches at the protocol signing ceremony, both Rector Ünal and President Çetinkaya wished the protocol would benefit both institutions and our country.

The ceremony ended with the presentation of gifts and a souvenir photo.
