Prof. Dr. Çetin Kurnaz and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nihan Kaya, representatives of professional chambers, academics, graduates, and their families.

“An Engineer is Someone Who Converts Theoretical Knowledge into Practical Knowledge for the Benefit of Humanity”

In his opening speech, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Yıldıray Topcu, stated, "Never forget that engineering education requires regular and continuous work rather than just intelligence and personal skills. Remember, an engineer is someone who converts theoretical knowledge into practical knowledge for the benefit of humanity. What we have experienced and seen in this historical period and geography have shown us how critical engineering is, and this fact is emphasized more every day. Today, with our international students representing the family of humanity and our brothers from our shared cultural geography, whether a better world fitting human dignity and honor is possible is now entirely up to you. Always remember that creating works that will elevate our nation and homeland to the deserved level requires not only knowledge and experience but also a strong character, a firm will, and great dedication. I wish you all a healthy, happy, beneficial, and successful life."

"I Wish All My Colleagues Success in Their Future Lives"

Moro Umar Zakaria, who graduated first in the Faculty of Engineering, said, "Welcome to our graduation ceremony, representing the day we step into the engineering profession. Today, I am speaking on behalf of all my colleagues here. During our engineering education, we faced many challenges and victories. We encountered sleepless nights, daunting projects, and tough exams. However, we also experienced the excitement of discovery, the satisfaction of solving complex problems, and the joy of learning. We owe a debt of gratitude to everyone who has supported us, especially our families. On behalf of all of us, I want to express my deepest gratitude to our professors who guided us with their wisdom and expertise in making us professionals. Your dedication and passion for teaching have been an inspiration to all of us. Your belief in us was a great motivation during our most challenging times. Thank you for being with us today, and I wish all my colleagues here success in their future lives."

After the speeches, the top three graduates from the Faculty of Engineering—Moro Umar Zakaria from the Department of Chemical Engineering, Buse Bakılan from the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, and Şeymanur Demirtaş from the Department of Industrial Engineering—were presented with gifts by the protocol members. The ceremony concluded with the graduates throwing their caps into the air after taking the engineering oath.
