The closing meeting of the "This Youth Can Do a Good Job" project was organized by Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU). The project, co-financed by the European Union and İŞKUR, had OMU and the Samsun Central Organized Industrial Zone Directorate as the principal applicants, with 60 participants completing their theoretical and practical training.

Under the project, which had a budget of 333,053 euros, trainees received training in computer-aided design and manufacturing, industrial automation and maintenance, and renewable energy.

The opening speech of the meeting, held at the OMU Faculty of Engineering Conference Hall, was delivered by Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Çetin Kurnaz, who emphasized OMU's active involvement in many ongoing and proposed projects. He stated, "I hope new projects will serve as a foundation for externally funded projects, especially within the European Union. I would like to thank Dr. Cenk and his team for their contributions."

Dr. Cenk Gezegin, a faculty member at OMU’s Faculty of Engineering and the project coordinator, mentioned that the project began in 2020 and expressed gratitude to OMU Rector Prof. Dr. Fatma Aydın and the university administration for their continuous support.

Gezegin noted that 34 out of the 60 participants were employed as qualified personnel through the project, stating: "Within the project scope, two renewable energy and industrial automation systems laboratories, as well as two maintenance-repair and design-application workshops, were established at the OMU Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department. A total of 23 cooperation protocols between the university and the industry were signed, and 3,630 people participated in the activities organized throughout the project. Additionally, a survey was conducted with the top executives of 228 companies operating in the TR83 region to identify the high technology needs of the industrial sector, and the results were published as a scientific study."

During the closing meeting, plaques and certificates of participation were presented to project partners, academics, and students involved in the project.

The event was attended by senior officials from public institutions, representatives from industrial enterprises in the TR83 region, OMU academic and administrative staff, trainees, and students.
