OMU and Regional Partners Unite for Skilled Workforce Development

Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) has signed a cooperation protocol with the Provincial Directorate of National Education, Samsun Central Organized Industrial Zone, Provincial Directorate of Industry and Technology, and the Middle Black Sea Development Agency (OKA) to strengthen collaboration in vocational and technical education.

The project aims to train a qualified workforce to meet the needs of the industrial sector

The Vocational Education Cooperation Protocol was prepared to train a qualified workforce to meet the needs of the industrial sector, ensure effective coordination between educational institutions and industry, and contribute to the employment of graduates. The protocol includes matching vocational and technical education institutions with enterprises, coordinating vocational training and internship programs, and the development of workshop and laboratory infrastructure. Valid for a period of two years, the protocol will be renewed annually with the mutual consent of all parties involved.

The protocol signing ceremony, hosted by OKA, was attended by Samsun Deputy Governor and Tekkeköy District Governor Enver Hakan Zengince, OMU Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Çetin Kurnaz, OKA Secretary General Mehlika Dicle, Provincial Director of National Education Dr. Murat Ağar, Samsun Central Organized Industrial Zone (OIZ) Director Hakan Tütüncüoğlu, Provincial Director of Industry and Technology Selahattin Altunsoy, Samsun Technopark General Manager Levent Tanrıverdi, Samsun Specialized Food OIZ Director Serhat Semizoğlu, Bafra Greenhouse OIZ Director Hamit Bozer, Bafra OIZ Director İsmail Hakkı Koç, Çarşamba OIZ Director Mehmet Dalgıç, Havza OIZ Director Vural Tokmak, Kavak OIZ Director Oğuzhan Sarıoğlu, district directors of national education, heads of vocational and technical high schools, and vocational training center directors from across the province.
