Furkan Kirazcı, a Research Assistant at Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) Faculty of Education's Department of Guidance and Psychological Counseling, has been honored with the 2023 Young Researcher Award by the Turkish Psychological Counseling and Guidance (PDR) Association. This prestigious award was presented at the 24th International Psychological Counseling and Guidance Congress held in Ankara.

Research Assistant Kirazcı has made significant contributions in the field of Career Psychological Counseling. His work, including articles published in international SSCI and national indexes and presented papers, along with his doctoral thesis project, had previously been recognized as worthy of support under the TÜBİTAK 1002 Program by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye (TÜBİTAK). In addition to his doctoral research, Kirazcı has served as an advisor for 2209 TÜBİTAK undergraduate student projects and is actively involved as a researcher in various OMU-supported projects.

Prof. Dr. Ayşenur Büyükgöze Kavas, the doctoral thesis advisor of the researcher, expressed pride in Kirazcı's achievement, noting the special significance as she herself had received this award 12 years ago as a doctoral student. She also highlighted the joy of bringing this award to Ondokuz Mayıs University for the first time.
