At the Day Care Center of Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) Health, Culture and Sports (SKS) Directorate, young students received disaster awareness and preparedness training conducted by the Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD) Samsun Provincial Directorate. This initiative aimed to prepare them for potential disasters.

The training session was attended by SKS Director Güngör Kural, Social Services Unit Branch Manager Ali Cengiz Ciğerci, Day Care Center Director Esranur Özdemir Alan, teachers, and parents.

At the beginning of the training led by AFAD Samsun Provincial Directorate's search and rescue technician, Zekai Aydoğan, students observed the setup of a disaster tent.

Subsequently, in the Day Care Center Conference Hall, Zekai Aydoğan educated the students about essential actions before, during, and after disasters such as earthquakes, fires, floods, etc. He covered topics like evacuation processes, assembly and meeting points, risk reduction during disasters, and control operations.

The educational session also included an informative and entertaining cartoon about disasters, which the students watched. Practical demonstrations of correct behavior during disasters were also conducted.

Aimed at enhancing the young students' life skills in the face of disasters, adopting a culture of safety, and being always prepared, the training concluded with a commemorative photo session.
