Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) Rector Prof. Dr. Yavuz Ünal and his accompanying delegation visited Comrat State University in the Gagauzia Autonomous Region in Moldova.
Rector Ünal and his delegation received information about Comrat State University from Rector Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sergey Zakharia, and observed Tekwill Information Center, Turkish Language and Literature Department, Turkish Student Center, and Gagauz Language Center on-site.
During the visiting tour, Rector Ünal introduced OMU, and Rector Zakharia introduced Comrat State University, who came together with the lecturers and students in the Hamdullah Suphi Tanrıöver class, which was equipped by the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA). On the other hand, the host team and the visiting delegation attended the meeting, where the exchange of experiences between the two universities was also discussed.
The visit ended with a souvenir photo shoot and an exchange of gifts.
Comrat State University Rector Zakharia visited OMU on November 3 – 4, 2022. A cooperation protocol was signed between Comrat State University and OMU, valid for three years, at the ceremony held at the Rectorate.
Another stop in the Gagauzia contacts of Rector Ünal and the accompanying delegation was the Comrat Mustafa Kemal Atatürk Library affiliated with Yunus Emre Institute.
Rector Ünal, who received information about the activities of the Institute in Gagauzia during the visit, emphasized the importance of cultural ties between the two countries and stated that Yunus Emre Institute and other institutions supported by Türkiye play an essential role in increasing communication and cooperation between Turkey and Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia.
Rector Ünal and his entourage's next visit was the Kongaz Süleyman Demirel Turkish Moldova High School, where they met with the teachers and administrators.
Rector Ünal, who conveyed detailed information about OMU and OMU-YÖS (OMU's International Student Entrance Examination), received information from Turkish teachers working in the high school about the current educational activities and visited the classrooms and laboratories.
