Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) participated in the Turkish Universities Education Fair organized by the Khartoum Embassy of Türkiye in Sudan and introduced the International Student Entrance Exam, OMU-YÖS.
At the fair, the promotion team led by Dr. Mehmet Tütüncü, Vice Head of OMU International Relations Office, and Dr. Murat Yıldız, Director of Middle East Countries, represented OMU.
On the occasion of the fair, Khartoum Ambassador İsmail Kübaoğlu and Education Counselor Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gökhan Bozbaş came together with the representatives of universities from Türkiye at the Yunus Emre Institute and thanked everyone who contributed. At the meeting, OMU representatives presented their gifts to Ambassador Kübaoğlu and Education Counselor Bozbaş.
At the fair, where the interest in OMU was extremely high, many students were informed about faculties and departments by OMU officials. OMU officials also gave Sudanese students details about how to apply to OMU-YÖS, the exam process, and the questions in the exam.
During the promotion mission, various schools were visited too. During these visits, it was stated that OMÜ-YÖS would be held on behalf of 19 universities this year and that the candidates could choose 19 universities in Turkey with their exam scores. Information about 19 universities that are stakeholders was also shared.
OMU representatives Dr. Tütüncü and Dr. Yıldız visited the Türkiye Maarif Foundation school and met with the representative of the Foundation, Mehmet Nedim Aslan.
International Relations Unit officers visited Ombadda Şamal High School for Boys and Almaali High School for Boys, two of Khartoum's leading high schools, and held promotion activities. During these visits, OMU was introduced to the students studying at the Foundation's high schools, and information was given about OMU-YÖS, which will be held on May 21, 2023.
