Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) held its "University Consultation Board Meeting" in the Senate Hall with wide participation, aiming to strengthen collaboration between the university, the city, and the industrial sector.
The meeting, hosted by OMU Rector Prof. Dr. Fatma Aydın, brought together a number of prominent stakeholders from Samsun, including Atakum District Governor and Acting Deputy Governor Kemal Yıldız, President of the Samsun Chamber of Commerce and Industry Salih Zeki Murzioğlu, Chairman of the Board of ADEKA Pharmaceutical Industry and Trade Inc. Ali Cüneyt Arpacıoğlu, Vice Chairman of the Board of Yeşilyurt Iron and Steel Inc. Fikret Yeşilyurt, Chairman of Bahadır Medical Instruments Inc. Ahmet Bahadır, Chairman of Samsun 19 Mayıs Furniture Industry and Trade Ltd. Erhan Malkoç, MÜSİAD Board Member Abdullah Kaan, Ali Kuloğlu on behalf of Birlik Agriculture, Livestock, and Food Industry Foreign Trade Ltd., Şuayip Sevgi on behalf of Vefa Certified Public Accountancy Inc., KOSGEB Samsun Provincial Director Nebahat Livaoğlu, OKA Secretary General Mehlika Dicle, TKDK Samsun Provincial Coordinator Yusuf Özbey, and members of the OMU administration and academic staff.
The meeting agenda included an overview of recent developments at OMU, current institutional status, updates on the university’s pursuit of Research University status, and ongoing R&D efforts. Participants shared new ideas and explored potential areas of cooperation between the university and the industry sector.
The session concluded with a general evaluation of the discussed topics, presentation of new suggestions, and collection of participant feedback.
