At the end of the 2023-2024 academic year, 138 students from nine technical associate degree programs at Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) Yeşilyurt Demir Çelik Vocational School were sent off to the future with a graduation ceremony. The ceremony was held at the Life Culture Center. It was attended by Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Selim Eren, Vocational School Director Prof. Dr. Kemal Yıldızlı, Assistant Director Lecturer Yücel Yaşar Büyüklü, Provincial Director of Industry and Technology Selahattin Altunsoy, Samsun Central Organized Industrial Zone Director Hakan Tütüncüoğlu, faculty members, and the families of the graduating students.

The ceremony began with a moment of silence and the National Anthem. Yeşilyurt Demir Çelik Vocational School Director Prof. Dr. Kemal Yıldızlı spoke at the event, stating, "Our vocational school is one of 21 schools located within organized industrial zones in our country. We have been training technical staff in our region and country for 12 years and competing. Today, we have gathered our young technicians who have successfully graduated from nine associate degree programs. One hundred thirty-eight of our graduates graduate after working in workplaces for one term. For the first time this year, we transitioned to the 2+2 education model, sending our students to work and learn practically in industrial enterprises and SMEs for both terms. We will strive to increase this number. From next year onwards, we will certify our associate degree education programs with accreditations and, with our vocational training workshops, technical facilities, and academic staff, we will exhibit the performance of an Organized Industrial Zone Vocational School that educates, teaches, and produces. We participated in TÜBİTAK and TEKNOFEST with our students and will continue to do so."

"We will contribute as beneficial individuals to society"

Muhammed Eymen Kaya, the top graduate of the vocational school, stated, "On this special day, we are all happy to have achieved a common goal. For two years, we have made our school's name known with our academic achievements and social activities. Today, we are reaping the fruits of these achievements and walking confidently into the future. As graduates, we are now opening a new chapter in our lives. In light of what we have learned, we will contribute as beneficial individuals to society in this new period. We will work towards our goals and support the development of our country. Today, we thank everyone who has brought us to this point. We express our endless gratitude to our families, teachers, and friends. Without their support and guidance, it would not have been possible for us to reach this day. Dear friends, today is just the beginning. We are stepping into a new journey. As graduates of Yeşilyurt Demir Çelik Vocational School, we look to the future with hope and believe that we will make everyone proud with our achievements."

Following the speeches, gifts, and certificates of achievement were presented to the top students. The ceremony ended with the graduates throwing their caps into the air.
