Founded by the students of Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) and Samsun University, Samsun Atakum Youth Center Tanyeli Rocket Team won the "Most Original Design" award after winning the middle altitude rocket category and completed TEKNOFEST 2021 with two first places.

At the ceremony held at Istanbul Atatürk Airport on September 26, 2021, Samsun Atakum Youth Center Tanyeli Rocket Team received the first prize from TÜBİTAK President Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal.

After the prestigious design award given by Roketsan only in the rocket category, OMU Rector Prof. Dr. Yavuz Ünal visited the team members and congratulated them.

Prof. Dr. by Çetin Kurnaz from OMU Faculty of Engineering Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering and led by Samsun University Aerospace Engineering student Murat Gül, Samsun Atakum Youth Center Tanyeli Rocket Team consists of OMU Faculty of Engineering Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering students Ömer Kurt and Ömer Faruk Arslan and Samsun University Aerospace Engineering students Nursena Sevinç, Tayfun Çobanoğlu and Recep Karaeer.
