Kyrgyzstan’s Ambassador to Ankara, Ruslan Kazakbaev, recently visited Prof. Dr. Yavuz Ünal, the Rector of Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) in Samsun. Accompanying the ambassador during his visit were the Kyrgyz Embassy's Attaché in Ankara, Erkinbek Atabekov; the Head of OMU's International Relations Unit, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Said Kurşunoğlu; Nazik Anarbekova, the representative of Kyrgyz students in Samsun; and Rysbek Ysmanov, a student from OMU’s Faculty of Communications.

The meeting primarily focused on the academic collaborations between Türkiye and Kyrgyzstan, including student and faculty exchange programs and social and cultural interactions. Discussions also covered suggestions and hopes regarding education and teaching methods.

Expressing pleasure over hosting Ambassador Kazakbaev at OMU, Rector Ünal highlighted the significance of Kyrgyzstan both for Türkiye and the Turkic world. Ambassador Kazakbaev noted the long-standing educational ties since Kyrgyzstan's independence, mentioning that Kyrgyz students have been studying in Türkiye for many years and expressing hope for increasing student numbers in the future.

Ambassador Kazakbaev, thanking Rector Ünal for the hospitality, conveyed his greetings and best wishes to the OMU community.

The visit concluded with the presentation of gifts and a commemorative photo session.
