Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) Rector Prof. Dr. Fatma Aydın participated in TEKNOFEST Cyprus, held this year in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) as part of Türkiye’s National Technology Initiative.
TEKNOFEST, which aims to promote youth engagement in science, technology, and innovation, once again drew significant participation. Throughout the festival, Rector Prof. Dr. Fatma Aydın visited the university booths, met with students and project teams, and closely examined the projects developed by OMU students. She expressed her satisfaction with the students’ scientific productivity and innovative spirit.
Highlighting TEKNOFEST as more than just a technology competition, Aydın emphasized its role in fostering young people’s interest in national and locally developed technologies. “As a university, we fully support our students’ active involvement in such events and stand behind every initiative that channels their scientific curiosity into real-world applications,” she said.
TEKNOFEST Cyprus brought together universities from Türkiye and the TRNC, along with private sector representatives, academics, and technology enthusiasts. The competitions, seminars, and technology exhibitions held throughout the event attracted considerable interest.
OMU Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Çetin Kurnaz, who accompanied Rector Aydın, also met with the university’s HARİKA and ZOMİ teams competing at TEKNOFEST Cyprus 2025, showing keen interest in their projects.
