OMU Provides Scientific Support to BOTAŞ for Landslide Risk Mitigation

Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) and BOTAŞ Black Sea Operations Directorate have signed a significant cooperation agreement to ensure the safety of natural gas pipelines. The protocol, titled “Research, Modeling, and Engineering Services Agreement for Stability Analyses of Potential Landslides Affecting Natural Gas Pipelines,” was officially signed during a ceremony held at the OMU Rectorate.

The signing ceremony was attended by OMU Rector Prof. Dr. Fatma Aydın, Faculty of Engineering Civil Engineering Department faculty member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gökhan Demir, BOTAŞ Black Sea Operations Manager Behçet Bal, and Chief Engineer Berkay Şimşek.

OMU to Provide Consultancy Services

The protocol will remain in effect for two years, aiming to strengthen scientific and technical cooperation between the two institutions. Under the agreement, OMU will provide consultancy services to BOTAŞ concerning landslide risks. The project will be coordinated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gökhan Demir.
