Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU), Çarşamba Municipality, and Philanthropist Halil Yılmaz signed a protocol regarding the construction of a Cultural Center at the Mustafa Kemal Güneşdoğdu Campus.
The protocol was signed at the OMU Rectorate by OMU Rector Prof. Dr. Fatma Aydın, Çarşamba District Governor Mehmet Kamil Sağlam, Çarşamba Mayor Hüseyin Dündar, and Philanthropist Halil Yılmaz.
Through this collaboration, the Cultural Center, expected to be completed in a short time, will be named after Halil Yılmaz in recognition of his contribution.
A Previously Unfinished Project to Be Completed
Under the protocol, valid for one year, construction work on the Cultural Center, which began in 2016 but remained incomplete, will be resumed. Detailed plans include roof construction, electrical and mechanical infrastructure, interior and exterior wall works, and ceramic coatings.
Collaboration Between the Municipality and University
As part of the protocol, Çarşamba Municipality will handle infrastructure works, including excavation, filling, and landscaping. OMU will ensure the center is opened for student use as soon as its construction is completed.
The signing ceremony concluded with a group photo. Following the event, District Governor Mehmet Kamil Sağlam, Mayor Hüseyin Dündar, and Halil Yılmaz paid a visit to Rector Prof. Dr. Fatma Aydın in her office.
