OMU and UTM to Collaborate on Innovation and Infrastructure Research

Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) Rector Prof. Dr. Fatma Aydın, accompanied by Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Çetin Kurnaz and Secretary General Prof. Dr. Erhan Burak Pancar, visited the university’s International Relations Office.

During the visit, discussions focused on the Satellite Laboratory protocol signed between OMU and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM)—ranked first in Malaysia for “Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure” (SDG 9) according to the QS Impact Rankings.

“We are now among a select group of universities worldwide”

Rector Prof. Dr. Fatma Aydın emphasized that this agreement places OMU among a select group of universities globally. She stated that the ongoing collaboration would significantly enhance the university’s international visibility, scientific capacity, and impact in strategic research areas.

Joint Projects and Mobility on the Agenda

The visit also included an exchange of ideas on the preparatory work for establishing the laboratory’s infrastructure, academic coordination, staff and student mobility, and the development of joint projects.
