Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) Faculty of Fine Arts Painting Department Member and the Chairman of Samsun Culture and Arts Platform Association Prof. Dr. Metin Eker held his exhibition called “100 Percent” which consists of 45 works in Amasya.

100 Percent was first held in Italy in October 2018, then in İstanbul in December 2018, and then in Samsun in April 2019 as part of the “100th Year of the National Struggle” events. The works reflect “National Struggle, Heroic Sagas, War of Independence, Samsun and the First Step, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and His Fellow Fighters, and the Heroes of the Independence War the Turkish Nation”.

Governor of Amasya Osman Varol, protocol members, and art-lovers attended the opening of the exhibition which is also included in the 100th Year Celebrations of the Amasya Circular.

Prof. Eker made an opening speech and said the following; “As its also exposed with the proportional tag line expressed with the name 100 Percent, we are 100 percent devoted to our country, nation, and sacred concepts just like we were one hundred years ago. We are 100 percent patriotic and loyal to our nation. The fighting spirit of the Turkish people sharpened by 100 percent forms the content of the art works exhibited here. My exhibition follows the route Atatürk took 100 years ago that initiated the National Struggle. The route will be completed with the exhibitions that are going to be opened in Erzurum next month, in Sivas in September, and in Ankara in October. I would like to thank Governor Osman Varol for providing full support to this exhibition.”

Governor of Amasya Osman Varol also made a speech during the opening and said the following; “I was very impressed when Prof. Metin visited me and talked about this exhibition project and its route. As you know, Amasya is a part of the 100th Year of National Struggle events implemented under the sponsorship of the Presidency, and this year we are contributing with more events and more enthusiasm. I would like to take this opportunity to thank dear Professor Eker for holding this event in Amasya and wish him success.”

Prof. Eker’s solo painting exhibition named “100 Percent” can be visited until 19 June 2019 in Amasya Hazeranlar Konağı exhibition hall.
