The closing ceremony for the project titled "The Power of Play: From Traditional to Digital for 21st-Century Survival Skills", supported under the TÜBİTAK 4005 Innovative Educational Practices Support Program, was held at Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) Faculty of Education.
The event was attended by OMU Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Çetin Kurnaz, Dean of the Faculty of Education Prof. Dr. Hamza Çalışıcı, Samsun Provincial Director of National Education Dr. Murat Ağar, teachers from various districts of Samsun, and other guests.
OMU Faculty of Education member and project coordinator, Assoc. In her opening remarks, Prof. Dr. Emine Şendurur emphasized how games can be a powerful educational tool in learning environments with limited access to technology.
The project brought together middle school teachers from different districts of Samsun and included five days of diverse activities.
Ranging from integrating traditional street games with computer science to game-based activities using augmented reality and generative artificial intelligence, the project offered participants a comprehensive experience. The program concluded with a closing ceremony where participants received their certificates.
