Rector Bilgiç then said the following; “We consider international collaborations very important. As a result of the collaborations we have done, we have a great number of international student and academician exchanges. Unfortunately, we had to cancel the “Indonesian Day” event due to the precautions taken against the Coronavirus Disease but hope to hold this event in the near future. We are very pleased to welcome and host you here.”
Ambassador Iqbal expressed his thanks and gratitude and said the following; “I am honored to be with you. I try to visit the universities wherever I go as I believe universities pay an important role in creating bonds between communities and nations. In this regard, I see OMU as an important factor in creating close relationships and strengthening the bonds between Indonesia and Turkey. We also have a considerable number of Indonesian students at OMU and they have expressed their happiness with their lives at OMU and Samsun. I would like to thank you for creating such an atmosphere for them. I am also ready to support you however I can in creating academic collaborations with Indonesian universities.”
Ambassador Iqbal then signed the university’s book of honor.
Rector Bilgiç thanked Ambassador Iqbal for their kind visit and presented him a gift.
Rector Advisor Tolga Arslan also attended the meeting.
