Işıl Kaptan, one of the first graduates of the Department of Journalism in the Faculty of Communication at Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU), was awarded with the 3rd prize for her page design of the news entitled "Genç İfade Gazetesi Ağaca Oyulan Hayaller" in the field of "Written Media/Layout".

Asst. Prof. Sinan Kaya and Asst. Prof. Ahmet Oktan, Deputy Deans of the Faculty of Communication at OMU, and Asst. Prof. Beste Nigar Erdem participated in the award ceremony held by Aydın Doğan Foundation in İnan Kıraç Hall at Yeditepe University.

102 students from 25 universities received awards for 59 projects in the competition where 917 projects from 1087 students were evaluated in the fields of "Written, Audiovisual, Advertising, Public Relations and Internet Publishing".
