5th Lymphoedema Symposium Held at OMU

The 5th Lymphedema Symposium organized by Türkiye (Anatolia) Lymphedema Association was hosted by Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) in Samsun on 6-8 October.

Lecturers, specialists, research assistant doctors, and physiotherapists from various centers across Türkiye participated in the OMU Atatürk Culture Centre event. The symposium featured experienced lecturers discussing basic and advanced lymphedema, sharing their current knowledge and daily practices.

Symposium co-chairs Prof. Dr. Pınar Borman and Prof. Dr. Figen Ayhan, along with Prof. Dr. Ayhan Bilgici, Head of the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Faculty of Medicine, Ondokuz Mayıs University, highlighted the significance of lymphedema rehabilitation for patients. They emphasized the importance of a multidisciplinary approach to lymphedema and the need for more specialized centers.

Additionally, courses on upper and lower extremity and genital lymphedema rehabilitation, kinesio taping in lymphedema, and wound care in venous and lymphatic ulcers generated considerable interest.
