Ondokuz Mayis University (OMU) completed the training of TSE ISO 9001: 2015 quality management system carried out in 4 groups for 5 days by Yasin Duru, the training specialist in the Samsun Documentation Directorate of the Turkish Standards Institute.
The training was performed with the participation of 172 people consisting of the deans from academic units, deputy managers, secretaries of faculties, schools and institutes, chiefs of units and volunteer quality ambassadors. During the training, the participants were informed about the quality management system basic training, documentation training and internal audit training. Personnel attending the training was given the title "internal auditor".
Secretary General Assoc. Prof. Menderes Kabadayı made the closing speech of the program. Menderes Kabadayı said that "the best investment is to invest in human beings and we pay much attention to the quality development activities as a university". He also thanked Erol Kaygı, Manager of TSE Samsun Documentation Department, and the staff who showed intense interest in the program for their contribution and support in the documentation activities.
Erol Kaygı, Manager of TSE Samsun Documentation Department, stated that they were content with the applications of Ondokuz Mayıs University for certification; he remarked that they would do their best as TSE, and he emphasized the importance of standardization and customer satisfaction in today's conditions. Vice Rector Prof. Vedat Ceyhan gave information about TS EN ISO 9001: 2015 Quality Management System studies initiated by OMU.
After the training, Ceyhan declared that TS EN ISO 9001: 2015 Quality Management System and the certification activities would start immediately, and that they planned to complete the process by the end of 2018. Then he said that they planned to initiate the studies related to "TS EN ISO 22000 Food Safety Management System" and "TS ISO IEC 27001 Information Security Management System ". The program ended after Vice Rector Vedat Ceyhan presented the seedling certificate to Erol Kaygı, Manager of TSE Samsun Documentation Department.
Documentation studies will include 4 research application centers (UZEM, UZAYTEM, SEM, OMU TURKÇE), Project Management Office, International Relations Department and administrative units affiliated to the Rectorate, together with 20 faculties, 5 institutes, 3 schools and 13 vocational schools.
Documents required for applications related to the services offered by our university units and the deadlines have been determined and standardized, and the places where applications will be made if these standards are not met have been announced.
