Ondokuz Mayıs University Secures Three New Patents

Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) has added another achievement to its list with the successful patenting of three innovative projects. The university's Technology Transfer Office (TTO) Coordinator Dr. İdris Sancaktar and Gökhan Kanlı developed a groundbreaking device named the 'Camera-equipped Speculum with a Flexible Tip Catheter Capable of Entering the Cervix Uteri in Cows'. This invention has successfully obtained a patent, marking a significant advancement in veterinary medical technology.

Another notable innovation from OMU is the 'Hybrid Apparatus Suitable for Conventional Feeding in Beekeeping,' which has also been granted a patent. This work is credited to Yeşilyurt Demir Çelik Vocational School lecturers Yusuf Yakut, Harun Çolak, and Onur Baş. This apparatus promises to revolutionize the traditional methods used in beekeeping, offering more efficient and effective feeding solutions for bee colonies.

The third patented invention is an 'Environment-Friendly Flexible and High-Strength Ceramic Composite Material and Its Production Method,' developed by Dr. Sinem Çevik, Dr. Arife Kübra Yontar, Dr. Suna Avcıoğlu, and Büşra Birateş. This new material stands out for its environmental friendliness and superior strength, potentially setting new standards in the field of ceramic composites.

According to the National Patent Registration data, OMU ranks fourth in the country. These achievements, certified by the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office, further highlight the university's growing reputation in research and innovation.
