Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) brought together 4,500 students for an iftar program organized in observance of the holy month of Ramadan.
The event, held at OMU Life Center, was attended by Samsun Governor Orhan Tavlı and his wife Ayşe Tavlı, Garrison Commander Major General Davut Ala, Metropolitan Mayor Halit Doğan, Chief Public Prosecutor Mehmet Sabri Kılıç, Rector Prof. Dr. Fatma Aydın, OMU Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Alper Kesten, Prof. Dr. Çetin Kurnaz, Prof. Dr. Ayşe Pınar Sumer, University Secretary General Prof. Dr. Erhan Burak Pancar, as well as academic and administrative staff.
At the gathering, 4,500 students came together with the university administration and staff to experience the spiritual atmosphere of Ramadan.
Regarding the Iftar program, Rector Prof. Dr. Fatma Aydın shared her thoughts on the event. She remarked, "Ondokuz Mayıs University hosted a meaningful iftar program that truly reflected the spirit of unity and togetherness in Ramadan. This event showcases OMU’s strong sense of community and reinforces our vision of being a student-friendly university."
Highlighting that the event was not just an iftar meal but also an initiative strengthening the university’s commitment to social responsibility and solidarity, Aydın added, "This meaningful time spent with students greatly strengthened the sense of community at OMU."
The program concluded with students and administrative staff taking commemorative photos with the OMU leadership.
