500 Big Service Exporters of Turkey were awarded during the ceremony organized by the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM) with the contributions of the Ministry of Economy.

Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) received the runner-up prize in the field of education at the ceremony where the institutions who qualified to receive a prize in regard to the service exportations during the 2016 were announced. Rector Prof. Dr. Sait Bilgiç received the runner-up prize for OMU, which ranked among the 500 Big Service Exporters of Turkey, in the field of Education Services - Public Universities from the Head of TİM Mehmet Büyükekşi. Middle East Technical University ranked first at the same category.

Institutions who applied from the categories of computer and information services, contracting services, education services, health services, services related to tourism and travel, entertainment services, culture and sports services, passenger transportation services, cargo and logistics services, financial services, and other business services which ranked top 10 in Turkey, and the institutions which ranked top 3 in their own fields received awards during the ceremony.

TİM announced that trade in services, which has gained a huge momentum in the last 10 years and now constitutes one quarter of the world trade, has a grand potential in Turkey; and that it aims to contribute to the development of Turkish service industry which is among the 2023 goals of Turkey, and reveal the true potential of the country with the event they held.
