Spearheaded by Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) Faculty of Health Sciences and supported academically by the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation of the Faculty of Medicine, URDEK 2025 – National Congress on Rehabilitation and Interdisciplinary Interaction – was successfully held at OMU UZEM Conference Hall.
Aiming to bring an interdisciplinary perspective to rehabilitation processes, the congress brought together experts from various health fields such as physical medicine, physiotherapy, orthopedics, occupational therapy, orthotics-prosthetics, nutrition and dietetics, geriatrics, gerontology, and social services.
Organized as part of OMU’s 50th anniversary celebrations, this significant event became a strong scientific platform reinforcing the university’s vision as a "research university." The congress promoted interdisciplinary collaboration and academic productivity and marked an important step in advancing OMU’s scientific goals.
Three sessions were held during the congress, focusing on cerebral palsy, scoliosis, and geriatric rehabilitation. In total, 22 expert academics shared their field experiences supported by current scientific data. These sessions, enriched by academic discussions, once again emphasized the importance of an interdisciplinary approach.
Oral presentation sessions provided attendees with the opportunity to present their academic studies. With over 200 participants, the congress proved highly productive in terms of both scientific content and professional interaction.
Chaired by Prof. Dr. Ayhan Bilgici and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mahmut Yaran, the congress offered valuable contributions not only through its scientific presentations but also by fostering interprofessional solidarity and collaboration.
URDEK 2025 stands out as a memorable academic gathering that illuminated the future of rehabilitation by combining OMU’s academic strength with interdisciplinary synergy.
