The traditional “Intercultural Day” of Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) School of Foreign Languages, which aims to add cultural awareness to prep class students of OMU Faculty of Education’s English, French, and German Language Teaching Departments, students of voluntary prep classes, and other faculties’ compulsory prep classes , was held at OMU School of Foreign Languages. The event also aims to contribute to the improvement of these students’ foreign languages and give an opportunity to international students to represent their own culture.
Approximately 150 students worked in groups to set up booths where 20 different countries were presented. Dishes, costumes, objects, and posters belonging to Turkey, Australia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, China, Czech Republic, England, France, Germany, Iran, Iraq, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Korea, Madagascar, Mexico, Russia, Turkmenistan, and Uighur Turks were displayed in these booths and presented by our students in English.
The joyous event became even more amusing with the participation of 30 students coming from Piri Reis Vocational High School.
The event was concluded with the dances and songs sung by the students all together.
