Governor of Samsun Osman Kaymak visited Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) Faculty of Fine Arts (FFA) to the accompaniment of OMU Rector Prof. Dr. Sait Bilgiç.

Governor Kaymak and Rector Bilgiç, welcomed by FFA Dean Prof. Dr. Metin Eker, started their visit with the Museum of Art and Education From Past to Present which reflects the stages of the faculty since its foundation.

Governor Kaymak and Rector Bilgiç then visited the “Group Exhibition” jointly organized by the instructors of OMU and Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University held at the Art Gallery on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of 19 May 1919 which is the date on which Atatürk started the Turkish War of Independence. Dean Eker gave detailed information on the pieces exhibited at the gallery.

Instructor Taha Baydar from the OMU FFA Department of Ceramics and Glass gifted Governor Kaymak a work of his in which he integrated the nightingale’s eye technique with water marbling through glassblowing practice.

Governor Kaymak and Rector Bilgiç then had a conversation with the students who had a class at the workshop.
