The 57th Infantry Regiment's Battle Standard which was entrusted to Ondokuz Mayis University (OMU) for a year started to be exhibited in the faculties, schools and vocational schools. Numerous conferences on the historical importance of the standard were held in the faculties where the standard was exhibited. The 57th Infantry Regiment's Battle Standard which will be entrusted to another university on May 19 will be exhibited in different departments of the University until this date.
Within the scope of the event, Nejat Bayrak, an academician in the field of Ataturk's Principles and Revolution History at OMU, met the students in Alaçam Vocational School and Bafra Vocational School, and he gave a conference on the meaning and significance of the Standard.
Academician Nejat Bayrak gave information about the outcomes of Çanakkale Wars, and he remarked: "Çanakkale victory demonstrated that Turkish Nation could win a victory even over the greatest forces, and it became the spiritual source of the Turkish War of Independence. The foundations of the new Turkish Nation were laid in Çanakkale, and the supreme skills of Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, Commander-in-Chief and Leader of the future Turkish War of Independence, were seen by the whole world. "
Bayrak noted that Ataturk gained his rightful prestige and power in the Turkish Nation after Çanakkale Wars and Victory, and he stated: "I am grateful to our martyrs and veterans who shed their blood for our country, may the mercy of Allah be upon them".
The Standard will be exhibited in Sınav College at 2 p.m. on March 16, 2018; in Mustafa Kemal Güneşdoğ Campus at 1 p.m. on March 21, 2018; in Terme Vocational School at 10.30 a.m. on March 21, 2018; in Çarşamba Merchantile Exchange Vocational School at 2.30 p.m. on March 21,2018; in Havza Vocational School on 10.30 a.m. on March 23, 2018; in Kavak Vocational School at 2 p.m. on March 23, 2018; in Vezirköprü Vocational School at 1 p.m. on March 28, 2018; in Ondokuz Mayıs Ballıca Campus at 10.30 a.m. on April 10, 2018; and in Yeşilyurt Vocational School at 10.30 a.m. on April 18, 2018. In addition, numerous conferences on the 57th Regiment's Standard will be organized by different academicians within the scope of the programs listed above.
