“Black Sea should get ready for the next 30-40 years”

DOKAP Region Union of Universities Secretary General Prof. Dr. Yusuf Demir said “How can we benefit as universities from the mission and vision of DOKAP here? How can we create an institutional identity? The Back Sea region is the most important region which will become the star of Turkey 30-40 years from now. Especially, if we take into consideration the climate change, it is in a region which draws attention with its nature and geography receiving much rain in a geography that slowly becomes a desert. DOKAP is a very important institution in the sense to prepare the Black Sea Region in the next 30-40 years. From this point of view, how can we work cooperatively, we will make that plan with a comprehensive meeting. This visit of ours, on the other hand, is realized to draw a plan before that comprehensive meeting.”

Ondokuz Mayıs University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Vedat Ceyhan stated that a visit was realized to have an exchange of ideas after taking over the term presidency.

“Let’s support successful students”

Stating that science, public and entrepreneurs lie behind each development, Head of DOKAP Ekrem Yüce continued “Science and knowledge cannot be achieved without universities, and science and knowledge cannot be complementary without institutions. In addition to this, entrepreneurs mobilize science produced by institutions and universities. Thus, science, institutions and entrepreneurs are important in the development of a society. From this perspective, universities should produce science, as institution, DOKAP do whatever is required so that entrepreneurs can act. From this viewpoint, the next year’s work slogan is “Qualified person, strong society”. I want to state here, that we should create a data selecting the most successful students from the universities in our union and bring them together under the roof of an association or foundation. We should support the scientific studies of these students in every aspect.”
