“Cyber Star” competition, organized by Information Technologies and Communications Authority (BTK) in order to determine the persons who will work for the cyber security of Turkey as volunteers or as National Cyber Incidents Response Centre (USOM) personnel, have ended. Participants have displayed their skills to find the 13 different flags during the competition in which 26 thousand people have applied to be a contestant and lasted 24 hours.
There were applications to the online competition from all over the world. The outcome of each stage of the fierce competition, which began on 20 January 2017, was announced at the social media.
Team “KırmızıBeyaz”, built by OMU employee Mustafa Altınkaynak, has finished the competition in second place while scoring the same points with the first team.
At the end of the competition, where the knowledge and skills that will provide employment opportunities to successful competitors will be assessed, some of the participants, regardless of their educational background and work experience, will be hired for USOM and some will be hired for the cyber security positions in public sector.
