Students from the Faculty of Engineering’s Chemical Engineering department at Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) secured second place in the Energy and Environment category at the finals of the TÜBİTAK 2242 University Students Research Project Competitions, held as part of TEKNOFEST 2023.

Their project, titled "Investigation of the Use of Glycerol, a Low-Cost Solvent from Biodiesel Production Byproduct, as a Source of Hydrogen in Bio-Aviation Fuel Production," was prepared under the guidance of Chemical Engineering faculty member Prof. Dr. Selim Ceylan and coordinated in the laboratory by Research Assistant Gülce Çakman. The project was developed by chemical engineering students Vuslat İrem Şimşek, İrem Özgenç, and Rabia Halezeroğlu.
